European Fusion Association lobbying group established

Various stakeholders in European fusion energy research aim to lobby in support of their interests with a unified voice at the EU level.

The European Fusion Association (EFA) has been officially established in Brussels, and has elected a board, the association announced recently.

Milena Roveda, the CEO of the Hanau-based fusion energy start-up Gauss Fusion, will be Chair of the EFA Executive Board. The other board members are Anders Wulff from Danish superconducting developer Subra, Bernard Blanc from French nuclear engineering company Assystem, Marianna Ginola from Italian construction firm Simic, and Eric Giguet from the French industrial company Alsymex.

Nuclear fusion is seen as a significant hope for future CO2-free energy supply. Alongside Gauss Fusion, the four German start-ups involved in this field include Marvel Fusion, Proxima Fusion, and Focused Energy from Darmstadt. The latter three companies are currently no members of the EFA.
