Saxony

The shift to the right in Saxony and Thuringia is creating a new political landscape. Unfortunately, the response from the parties is all too familiar and is heading in the wrong direction. It's evident that a touch of symbolic politics will not suffice.

Saxony's start-up hotspots Dresden, Leipzig; and Chemnitz are currently going full speed ahead. In no other federal state has start-up activity recently increased as significantly as in the state of Saxony. However, the access to growth capital and the recruitment of employees are often still difficult for the young companies.

A fear is circulating that the missing billions from the public sector due to the budget freeze could jeopardize the construction of new chip factories, particularly those of Intel and TSMC, in Germany. However, this threatening backdrop is exaggerated.
